I've been pretty neglect full of the old blog over the last week. So I'm getting through all the stuff I've wanted to blog about. I found this gem a few weeks ago. Daft Punk

I've been reading a lot of stuff on Daft Punk recently. Following in Interstella 555, they decided to make a a movie titled Electroma. I'm yet to see it but apparently, the plot revolves around their robot mask/head motif going on a road trip in America to be turned back into humans. There's very little dialogue in the movie but I'm rather intrigued by the 70mins featurette.

In the meantime, theres an amazing set of black and white photos from one of their recent on tour gigs. Enjoy them with a little french electro (I suggest some justice or Busy P) at:

Morten Laursen

I don't normally like overtly flash based sites especially ones like this where a physical portfolio has been taken and made digital. Sometimes analogue things such as folios should stay that way as the online world offers new opportunities which are often hindered by real world objects that have been transported across.

Objections aside, at least there is a certain fluidity to flicking through the page in this example and bar the first couple of examples, the work on show makes up for it all.

Ben Wittner

Ben Wittner has some really great pieces of photography on show in his folio. I real like the humour behind some pieces whilst on the flip side the insightful window in to his subjects featured in other shots and their willingness to let the camera invade their personal space. Perhaps the best thing of all about the actual website are the quirky animations on the navigation at the top. I love that typewriter and little camera are rather nostalgic.

Anna Rosa

Amazing photographer. Anna Rosa - there is a real allure in her work in both the style and dressing of the models. I also find her choice of location in certain shoots really engaging. Just a shame that the website isn't the easiest to navigate once you are looking at an album.

Retro Computers - Works of Art?

Inspired by a few posts ago on minature model computers and pieces of electronics, I spotted an article in this months Wired Magazine titled Memory Lane.

Mark Richards has beautifully photographed a variety of retro computers. There is a published book of the work entitled, Core Memory: A Visual Survey of Vintage Computers, but a selection of photographs can be found on Mark Richard's site under index>core memory section.

I really wish I was back in New York, Urban Outfitters always had cool clothes and stuff in there and were so cheap in comparison to over here in the UK. I bought a really cool Local Celebrity tee from there for about £10 and later managed to get dye all over it - I was gutted.
